Trip Report:

Mark and I were ready for a change of pace after four days of class 4 and loose rock, and Harvard seemed to fit the bill.  We were also sick of Mountain House dehydrated food, so we picked up some pizza from Pizza Works in Buena Vista before heading up to the trailhead.  Planning on a cold camp (no stove), we were able to keep our packs pretty light for the hike into the Horn Fork Basin.  We found a decent camp site at 11,800 feet about 2 hours after leaving the TH.

We blazed up the class 2 trail to the summit in about two hours the next morning, and had the summit to ourselves at 7:40 AM.  The early morning light and some interesting clouds made for great views.  This was my 51st fourteener and the final peak of what I'd been calling Fourteener Frenzy, a weeklong trip covering 7 peaks, 50 miles of trail, and 21,000 vertical feet.  We were beginning to feel the effects of consecutive climbing days without a break, so it was with mixed emotions that Mark and I ended our streak of peaks.  Regardless, the Coyote Cantina was the perfect end to our trip before we parted ways.
